Visiting the Doctor Post Corona

The way we visit the Doctor has to be a permanent change!

With the realisation that it's not just this Corona Virus that can devastate families we must look at a permanent solution to lessen the risk of exposure to all viruses and diseases. Surely the first place we need to look at is the one place we all go for treatment for our illnesses.

If we think about it, we are packing our family up in our car and taking them to a room that is full of sick people.

Not only that but 99% of the time you have to wait among those sick people for at least 30 minutes if not much more.

Even if you are going to see the Doc for an ankle strain or some "non-disease" reason we may very well leave there with something much more sinister. After 30 minutes of exposure to sneezes and contaminated surfaces what are the odds. Whatever they are why take them when we don't have to?

Why do such a thing when it is obvious now that it isn't necessary.

Covid 19 has taught us one thing. There is no reason not to have a consultation over the phone with our Doctor.

My goodness me, it's over and done with in a matter of minutes and you haven't had the stress of packing your family up in the car and travelling (for many this can be for hours) and waiting it out to see them in the "sick room".

For those living in the country this is a major event.

What we now must do is improve the way we can obtain our scripts.

If we can get the diagnosis over the phone then surely we can make it that our scripts can be delivered to our doorstep as well.  Once again this is lessening the risk of infections either to you or from you if you have a virus or an illness that is transmittable.

It's a time saver, it's a money saver and it's a big plus for a healthier family.

China shows it's true colours

It's time to get behind Australia's Manufacturing Industry once again.

China's reaction to Australia's call for more clarity on the Corona Virus tells us exactly what we want to know without any inquiry taking place.

They have initially described Australia's call for an inquiry as “Gum stuck to the bottom of China's shoe” and other such aggressive narrative that shows their true colours when it comes to any sort of trade deal we have agreed on.

Also, their blatant threats to punish us by not buying our goods just shows that China's global strength needs to be addressed and our only way of doing that is by going back to Australia supporting our own manufacturing base and not relying on China for almost everything.

If it wasn't so serious it would be hilarious that the Chinese Ambassador to Australia Jingye Cheng suggested that the ordinary Chinese people would reconsider buying Australian made products. Since when have the “ordinary Chinese” people ever had a say in what China does. I have no doubts that every Chinese citizen would love to know the truth about what their Government has been doing in the manipulation of animal viruses.

China's imposed tariffs on Australian barley and reduction in their meat imports shows exactly how much importance they give to trade agreements already signed.

And my last word for now is lets put a stop to China's “takeover” of Australia. It seems the only politician in this country with any “guts” is Pauline Hanson and regardless of what you think of her, we should all be supporting her call to put a stop to all Chinese purchases of Australian assets no matter what it is whether it be a domestic dwelling, a million hectare property or any business of any size.

Our Home must be our Castle

We must know we are safe in our own homes

I went online a few weeks ago to search for information on a home invasion that had just taken place in Sydney where an elderly couple, 86 year old Colin Saliba and his 84 year old wife Josephine, were found by police with serious head injuries after a home invasion by two men.

Mr Saliba was attacked when he tried to defend his wife from being beaten. They were both taken to hospital and Mr Saliba has since died leaving his wife in a serious condition.

They have been married for more than 60 years and lived in the same house for more than 30 years.

When I went online expecting to find right away the details of Mr and Mrs Saliba I instead was bombarded by dozens of home invasion incidents from only a few previous months.  Over the last decade there must be hundreds of home invasions involving murders, rapes, robberies and bashings.  Each on of these atrocities leaves the families of the victims in tatters.

When are our politicians going to find the guts to enact some serious penalties for entering a persons home uninvited.

I see no reason why home invasions should not receive the same penalties as that for murder.  The different degrees of home invasions can have different penalties but lets kick it off the same as murder and go up from there.

Our homes are supposed to be our castles and these cowardly scum need to know that if they cross the line uninvited then they will suffer the consequences.

Come on politicians, find some intestinal fortitude and represent the decent law abiding citizens who allow you the privilege of representing them.
